About the Aquettes

The Tonawanda Aquettes Artistic Swimming Team is an elite, community-based sports team in Tonawanda, New York.

What Our Athletes Learn

Artistic swimming is an excellent lifetime activity for health and well being, but it goes much further than that. Swimmers learn the importance of goal setting and achievement, perseverance and determination, dedication and commitment. They learn courage, self-discipline, self-control and time management and with interpersonal relationship skills.

Our athletes learn how to win and lose with class and grace, and what it takes to be the best. Being a part of a team teaches athletes cooperation with others. Artistic swimmers take these valuable skills into the real world, using these skills in school, work and life – all while having fun. Our athletes describe their teammates as family, with a bond unlike any other. Many artistic swimmers meet young and remain very close throughout their lives.

Aquettes Programs

The Aquettes offer programs for athletes of various ages and skill levels. We have highly committed swimmers and families in our competitive age group program, who enjoy travelling the country for local, state, and national competitions. We have our Novice/Intermediate program designed for those who love artistic swimming yet prefer less commitment. The best place to start is with the Tonawanda Aquettes Novice Team or Summer Synchro program.

The Team travels all over the country representing the community in local, state, regional, zone, and national competitions.  Each year the Aquettes qualify and attend annually several National Network Training Camps held locally, and at various colleges around the country.  Athletes also attend the US Olympic Training Centers in Lake Placid, New York and in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
